UGL, a subsidiary of CIMIC Group, has been granted a five-year contract with Power Network Services (PNS), a partnership between CitiPower and Powercor Australia.
The contract will see UGL delivering maintenance and construction services for overhead powerlines within the Victorian Electricity Supply Industry (VESI), thereby addressing the increasing demand for infrastructure maintenance and upgrades.
The five-year agreement, with potential revenue of up to $80 million for UGL, includes options for extensions.
CIMIC Group Executive Chairman Juan Santamaria expressed his satisfaction over the recently awarded contract.
“CitiPower and Powercor supply electricity to the majority of Victoria, meeting the power needs of residents, businesses, and infrastructure,” Santamaria stated.
He added, “We are pleased that UGL’s experience in power generation, transmission and distribution solutions can be used to help serve Victoria’s growing energy requirements.”
UGL’s Managing Director Doug Moss underscored the company’s leading position in the electricity generation, transmission, and storage sectors.
He noted, “This agreement with PNS allows us to deliver our expertise across the Victorian network, providing a safe and reliable service for the community and providing employment opportunities throughout the state.”
