The Australian government’s Joint Standing Committee on Trade and Investment Growth is soliciting public feedback on the country’s green energy transition.
The committee wants to hear comments and suggestions from state and local governments, as well as other interested parties from across the community about where trade and investment activities are already having a positive impact, emerging trends, areas of growth, and development acceleration methods.
The inquiry will focus on areas that pay to Australia’s strengths, particularly advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, battery storage, energy supply and infrastructure, the electric vehicle industry, as well as services and technology.
Submissions of feedback from individuals, businesses and organisations will be accepted until 30 November.
“Australia is well on its way to becoming a renewable energy superpower, and I hope this inquiry will be a valuable opportunity to ensure we are doing everything possible to strive further towards a green energy future,” said Steve Georganas MP, chairman of the joint standing committee.
