The Modern Manufacturing Expo which takes place at the Sydney Showground in September, has announced the addition of a one-day conference to their education program: the Smart Manufacturing Conference, taking place on 20 September.

“The conferences present an exciting opportunity for Expo delegates to have in-depth discussions surrounding the future of manufacturing in Australia and to hear from leading companies who are actually putting these ideas into action in their own factories,” says Marie Kinsella, CEO of the International Exhibition & Conference (IEC) Group, organisers of the Modern Manufacturing Expo.

“Our goal is that both events will be a catalyst, where manufacturing leaders and decision-makers across all verticals will gather to explore the latest technology and equipment suppliers, learn new modernisation and digitalisation strategies, and collaborate to forge new alliances,” she adds.

Marie notes that the conference visitors are sure to get ‘bang for their buck’ with a jam-packed program. “Our speaker line-up features industry leaders across both conferences which include KNAPP, IFM, Western Parkland City Authority, Nano Dimension, Universal Robots, Mitsubishi Electric, CSIRO, AusIndustry, MYOB and Kellogg Australia, among others.”

Smart Manufacturing Conference

The program for the Smart Manufacturing Conference on 20 September includes thought-provoking presentations from experts on future-thinking and practical topics such as:

  • Smart-sourcing new technologies and equipment.
  • The benefits of deep learning AI in the automated process.
  • Navigating the additive manufacturing landscape in highly regulated industries.
  • Government support and grants available to local manufacturers.
  • Optimising production through smart manufacturing.

“At the end of the day, attendees will leave the Smart Manufacturing Conference with a practical understanding of the path to digitalisation, the costs involved and the benefits it will bring to both their operations and bottom-line,” says Marie.

Also on offer at the Modern Manufacturing Expo:

The event will be opened by Minister for Industry and Science, the Hon Ed Husic MP who will give a government address at the Expert Arena on 20 September 2022.

Innovation & Collaboration Zone.

The Expo will feature a special dedicated Innovation & Collaboration Zone where Universities, Manufacturing Hubs and CRC’s will showcase their offering to the manufacturing sector. This is a great place for manufacturers to connect with innovation creators and learn how these organisations can support their advanced manufacturing goals.

Expert Arena.

All registrations for the free Modern Manufacturing Expo will include complimentary access to the Expert Arena, which will be scheduled across the two days. Here, attendees can access live demonstrations of the latest in manufacturing technologies and hear expert presentations on topics such as 3D printing, a manufacturer’s guide to Cloud Software, AI, robotics, machine learning and digital manufacturing.

Real advice to give manufacturers a clear path forward

“These topics and speakers have been specifically curated to answer the real-life questions that local manufacturers have today,” says Marie. “We know that they’re tired of wading through jargon and hearing about abstract concepts rather than real, practical and implementable advice from manufacturers who’ve actually put these ideas into practice.”

“We want them to walk out of the Expo with a clearer idea of how to kickstart their journey to digital transformation. With the resources and support network on offer, the journey will be easier,” she concludes.

Workplace Health & Safety Show. The Modern Manufacturing Expo will run alongside the successful Workplace Health & Safety Show, a must-attend event for workplace health and safety decision-makers across all industries. The WHS Show will showcase the latest health and safety products and resources and innovative solutions for the modern workplace.
