Lighting and technology solutions developer Pierlite has acquired the SenseAgent technology portfolio from Levaux in a bid to scale its intelligent internet of things (IoT) ecosystem.
The SenseAgent smart building tech portfolio was bought for an undisclosed value to boost the Interact smart IoT ecosystem of Pierlite’s parent company Signify.
The Levaux-developed tech portfolio provides IoT sensor technology designed to deliver real-time monitoring capabilities for offices in the health, education, commercial, and retail markets.
SenseAgent also offers intelligent IoT sensors capable of tracking various environmental and physical aspects in a particular space, such as air quality, air flow, energy consumption, temperature, and humidity.
The products transfer data directly into a cloud software solution, enabling asset managers to monitor building analytics in real-time. The technologies can also be integrated with existing building management systems, allowing seamless data optimisation, planning, and physical asset management.
SenseAgent is already a major component in Pierlite’s Aether LED Troffer, a smart luminaire equipped with UV-C/HEPA air disinfection technology, which combines live monitoring with an additional layer of security for office occupants.
Lydell Stokes, Pierlite’s general manager for future markets, said the acquisition will enable the company to enhance its approach to the development of performance and lifecycle management.
“SenseAgent’s technology platform offers unmatched indoor monitoring and tracking capabilities. It will enable us to integrate best-in-class IoT technology into more of our products and offer new solutions, for the benefit of our customers,” Stokes said in a press release.
