Australia-based company Beam Communications Holdings has received an order from leading satellite services company Iridium Communications for the manufacturing of 5,000 Iridium GO! devices.
Powered by the world’s furthest reaching network Iridium, the Iridium GO! is a compact, rugged and portable device that supports global voice calling, SMS, email, social networking, photo sharing and SOS alert and tracking capabilities.
Michael Capocchi, Managing Director of Beam, said the new order was in addition to the 7,500-unit order that Iridium placed just last month, adding that the company has to date received orders for a total of 62,500 units since this product’s launch in 2014.
“We are seeing an increased demand for personal communication devices as the world reopens following the COVID-19 pandemic,” Mr Capocchi continued.
“Beam is well placed to capitalise on this trend, and the better-than-expected orders for Iridium GO! and the rising subscription revenues from ZOLEO, bode well for the Group’s financial performance in FY2022 and beyond.”
