Amcor’s Flexibles North America business (AFNA) has installed a seven-layer blown film line to produce its recently launched AmPrima PE Plus ultra-clear and heat resistance films.
AmPrim is a portfolio of more sustainable packaging solutions, designed to be recycled, if clean and dry, through existing store drop-offs or curbside where available.
Available in a range of PE formats, these films enable customers to shift to recycle-ready solutions without compromise on performance, product appearance or manufacturing throughput.
Amcor, which aims to make all its products recyclable or reusable by 2025, said the line uses machine-direction orientation technology to produce films that can run at speeds that ‘competitors are unable to match in a recycle-ready solution’.
According to the company’s statement, production teams at AFNA Oshkosh Converter Films have completed first runs on the new AmPrima line, with full production capability expected by the end of June.
AFNA President Fred Stephan said Amcor continues to enhance its leadership position in responsible packaging solutions with a keen focus on addressing end-of-life and reducing waste in the environment.
“This move enhances our ability to grow our AmPrima product line,” Mr Stephan said.
