Toyota Material Handling Australia (TMHA) has opened a new branch in Tasmania, increasing its customer support capability and confirming its commitment to local customers.
According to a press release from TMHA, the new branch located in Connector Park, Kings Meadows in Launceston offers the full range of Toyota Material Handling products, as well as BT Lift Truck and Raymond forklift products, and Toyota’s Huski skid-steer range.
The State now also has a dedicated Toyota Material Handling team that offers direct manufacturer support and pallet handling solutions. At present there’s about 3000 Toyota forklifts in operation in Tasmania, according to Toyota’s estimates.
“We’re already operational with sales and service, including service vans based in Hobart and Devonport, plus an area sales manager Rod Jones, who is also Hobart based, enhancing the support of our new Launceston branch,” said new branch sales manager Rob Cornwell.
TMHA’s general manager for branch operations Cameron Paxton said having a direct presence in Tasmania would be beneficial to customers.
“We can now offer dedicated field support as well as a fully equipped service facility capable of handling all jobs,” Paxton said.
“Tasmanian forklift and skid-steer loader customers will now have access to factory-backed technicians trained to the highest skill levels in the industry, as well as Toyota’s national network of factory-owned branches and resources.”
Paxton said the move to establish factory-owned branches is aligned with the company’s strategy to engage directly with its customers, allowing them to offer direct service and better access to their products, including equipment, parts and short-term rental units.
“Our customers will be able to engage directly with representatives from the factory, creating a better value proposition,” he said.
