The Australian Missile Corporation (AMC) announced Milspec Manufacturing and Thomas Global Systems as the latest partners to the AMC collaboration, which aims to support the Government’s sovereign guided weapons enterprise.
AMC is a subsidiary of NIOA, formed to facilitate collaboration between industry partners, academia, State Governments and Defence in response to the Federal Government’s call to establish a sovereign guided weapons enterprise.
AMC CEO Robert Nioa welcomed the new participants, which join the likes of Quickstep, Black Sky Aerospace, DMG MORI, Thornton Tomasetti, Arican Advisory & Capital and Aldom Transport Engineering, to name a few, as the latest partners coming together under the AMC banner.
“Highly capable organisations such as Milspec Manufacturing and Thomas Global Systems partnering through this collaborative platform will be critical to the success of the Commonwealth’s sovereign guided weapons enterprise,” Mr Nioa said.
“NIOA will continue to welcome opportunities to partner through the AMC and showcase and support the expertise of leading Australian companies.”
Milspec Manufacturing, which has been supplying technology and componentry to the defence industry for over 14 years, has significant expertise in precision machining, welding, fabrication and assembly of launcher systems.
“We are excited at the opportunity to partner with AMC and to be involved in the development of a sovereign guided weapons enterprise in Australia,” said the company’s General Manager, Mr Neil Morrison.
“Milspec Manufacturing is ready to assist as we are AS9100-approved and have relevant manufacturing capabilities thanks to our work on the Nulka decoy system.”
Thomas Global Systems is an industry leader in the design, production and support of high integrity electronic systems solutions for defence and commercial aviation applications.
Established in 1956, the company leverages expertise in avionics, armoured vehicle electronics and specialised mission-critical defence electronics and training solutions.
